This command allows you to quickly rename a single file or directory.
| Menu: | Files/Quick Rename... |
| Context menu: | Right-click file or directory and choose Rename. |
| Shortcut key: | F2 |
| Toolbar: | Choose the Quick Rename button on the Top, Middle, or Bottom toolbar. |
You can also rename a file or directory directly in the panel by clicking its name when the item is already focused. If you need to focus it first, wait a moment between the two clicks; otherwise, you will double-click the item and open the file or directory. See the Rename by slowly clicking the name twice option in Configuration/Panels.
A folder or file you create with New (in the context menu of the panel, or in the Files menu) opens for renaming in the same way, as in Windows Explorer: type its name and press Enter, or press Esc to keep the name Windows gave it.
