Advanced Options
Use this dialog box to specify advanced search options.
Dialog Box Options
- Attributes
- Each attribute is represented by one check box with the following meaning:
Items with this attribute will be found.
Items without this attribute will be found.
Ignore this attribute.
- The check boxes are Archive, Read-only, Hidden, System,
Compressed, Encrypted and Directory. Directory is not a file
attribute in the usual sense: check it to find only directories, clear it to find only
files. An item is found only if it agrees with every check box that is not in the third
state. See File and Directory Attributes for the
meaning of each attribute.
- File size
- Allows you to specify the file-size range you are looking for.
- At least: when checked, only files of the given size or larger are found.
- At most: when checked, only files of the given size or smaller are found.
- Choose the unit (bytes, KB, MB and larger) in the box next to each value. When you
check both, the maximum must not be smaller than the minimum. While a size limit is
used, directories are not found, because they have no size of their own.
- Date and Time
- Allows you to find files and directories that were modified within a specified time
period. The last modification time is compared in local time.
- Ignore: the modification time does not matter.
- Modified during: finds items modified during the last given number of
seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or years, up to now. Items with a
modification time in the future are not found. For days and longer units, whole days
are counted, starting at midnight.
- Modified from: finds items modified between the From and To
dates and times. Clear a date or time box to ignore it: without a From date
there is no lower limit, and without a To date there is no upper limit. A date
without a time means the start of that day for From and the end of that day
for To.
- Reset
- Resets all advanced options so they are ignored.
