Features
Every Windows PC, and Linux too
The same Sally, built natively for each processor, released in public and easy to keep current.
Native builds
Each release has portable builds for x64, x86 and ARM64. On Windows on ARM devices Sally and all its plugins run as native ARM64 code, not under emulation.
Linux with Wine
Sally runs under Wine 10.0 and newer without .NET, Wine Mono or Gecko. Panels, viewers, archives and plugins work as on Windows. See Linux and Wine.
Staying up to date
Help › Check For New Versions asks GitHub over HTTPS whether a newer release exists, and Sally does so by itself on a schedule you set (weekly by default). Install and Restart in the update window then downloads it, checks it against the release's SHA-256 checksum, and updates Sally in place, putting every file back if anything goes wrong. A release zip you downloaded yourself installs the same way with utils\salupdate.exe. The changelog lists what each release changed. See Installing and Updating Sally.
Built in public
Every release comes from tagged source on GitHub. Releases carry SHA-256 checksums and a debug-symbol archive so downloads can be verified and crash reports can be analysed.
Languages
English plus Chinese (Simplified), Czech, Dutch, French, German, Hungarian, Romanian, Russian, Slovak and Spanish, for Sally and its plugins.
